The head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) Denis Pushilin named the perpetrators of the failure of the Minsk agreements.
The politician said that the Minsk agreements turned into a bacchanalia. According to him, the blame for the disruption of the peaceful settlement of the conflict in Donbass lies entirely with the Kiev authorities. “Ukraine has blocked everything,” the DPR head stressed during a press conference.
The situation in the south-east of Ukraine is gradually deteriorating. Pushilin said that the number of attacks from the enemy’s side had almost doubled compared to the last months of last year. He clarified that the Kiev authorities began to pull together the military and equipment to the contact line.
The head of the DPR announced his readiness to respond to the aggression of Ukraine. Pushilin assured: if Kiev goes on the offensive, it will receive a serious rebuff. At the same time, he noted that he was not interested in fomenting hostilities. “We will do our best to prevent a big war from starting,” the politician said.
Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy called the only way to end the armed conflict in the southeast of the country. In his opinion, only Ukraine’s entry into the North Atlantic Alliance will help to stop Russia’s “aggression”.
Military expert Alexei Podberezkin advised the Ukrainian leader not to pin high hopes on the West. He explained that Europe and the United States do not want to be held responsible for the actions of the Ukrainian authorities. The specialist also said that the conflict in Donbass is beneficial to Vladimir Zelensky.
