Former President of Moldova Igor Dodon again headed the country’s largest Party of Socialists of the Republic of Moldova, reports TASS.
It is noted that at the party congress his candidacy was supported by a majority of votes.
Dodon noted that the PSRM will strengthen its ranks and intend to achieve victory in the upcoming early parliamentary elections this year.
“We will not participate in any coalitions in this parliament and are in favor of its dissolution,” he stressed.
Let us remind you that Igor Dodon, who left the post of President of Moldova, officially transferred powers to the new leader of the country, Maya Sandu. Her inauguration ceremony took place at the Palace of the Republic in Chisinau.
During the election program, Sandu noted that she would lead the country along the European path of development. At the same time, according to her, relations with all strategic partners of the republic, including the Russian Federation, will be based on the national interests of Moldova.
