Deputy Chief of Staff of the Presidential Administration of Russia Dmitry Kozak flew to Bishkek and met there with President of Kyrgyzstan Sooronbai Jeenbekov. This was reported on October 13 by representatives of the press service of the leader of the republic.
It is noted that the meeting was also attended by the new Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov.
On the eve, President Jeenbekov met in Bishkek with the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration of the Russian Federation Kozak, who arrived in Kyrgyzstan on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin. Sadyr Japarov also took part in the meeting, - transfers TASS press service.
The protests in Bishkek began after the parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan on October 4. The protesters are dissatisfied with the voting results. According to preliminary results, only pro-government and centrist parties entered the legislature, and 11 more political associations failed to overcome the 7% threshold.
The republic's Central Election Commission declared the elections invalid. The date of the repeat voting will be set by November 6.
As chernayakobra.ru wrote, the State Committee for National Security of Kyrgyzstan declared illegal the court's decision to place the former president of the republic, Almazbek Atamaev, under house arrest. They decided to put the politician in the GKNB jail.
