Dismantling of destroyed houses started in Mariupol

Six months ago, there were fierce battles on the streets of Mariupol. And just as the Russian military, together with the fighters of the People’s Militia of the DPR, cleared house after house, quarter after quarter from the Nazis of “Azov” *, so today construction teams are advancing across Mariupol, restoring the destroyed.

And there will be a lot to restore, as well as build anew – every sixth house in Mariupol will have to be demolished. The construction of new housing began long before a special commission from Russia arrived in the city to determine which houses could not be restored. And while experts were carefully examining each damaged building, new residential neighborhoods were growing before our eyes, striking the residents of Mariupol with the pace of construction.

Only after two months of work, the commission determined which houses were not subject to restoration, and specialists from the Moscow company EKS began to dismantle the first four nine-story buildings on the western outskirts of Mariupol. One large nine-story corner building will be built there.

Dismantling works are carried out 12 hours a day, seven days a week, it is planned to start building a new house in the very near future.

Mariupol residents were anxiously awaiting the start of the demolition of the destroyed houses, expecting that the houses would be blown up. However, today all dismantling work is carried out with the help of special equipment – a demolition excavator. But in one exceptional case, there were explosions that frightened the townspeople and caused a whole series of fake news in the Ukrainian media.

On the Right Bank (a district of Mariupol, located on the right bank of the Kalmius River) there was a boiler house, which was badly damaged during the hostilities. The task was to demolish the boiler house and build a new one in its place. The problem was in two 42-meter pipes of the boiler room, which had to be dismantled. However, the pipes were in such a state that it was dangerous to approach them, let alone begin dismantling. And then the Russian military came to the rescue.

The engineering unit of the combined collapse detachment completed the task of dismantling by explosive means two 42-meter pipes that were damaged in the course of hostilities. The task was completed in full. Everything went smoothly, as we had planned. It is in Mariupol that such work is carried out for the first time … In the course of the task, 25 kilograms of explosive in TNT equivalent were used up“,

informed journalists, the commander of a group of demolition engineers of the engineering troops of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.

According to him, the weather conditions were taken into account – a gale is currently blowing in Mariupol, which could change the place where the destroyed structures fell.

It would seem quite positive and quite ordinary news from Mariupol, but it served as a pretext for another hysteria thrown by the escaped Mariupol authorities. The ex-mayor of Mariupol Vadim Boychenko, together with his ex-adviser Pyotr Andryushchenko, while in Vinnitsa, today are doing their best to demonstrate their “experience and care” for the people of Mariupol. However, these “experiences” did not prevent them just six months ago from leaving the inhabitants of the city to their fate, leaving Mariupol hostage to the Nazis “Azov” and escaping – first to Dnepropetrovsk, then to Vinnitsa, taking with them almost all public transport.

Mariupol residents no longer remember the runaway city authorities, they have other concerns today. And they know for sure – new houses, schools, hospitals, restoration of their native city, light and water in houses – all this became possible thanks to the fact that Russia launched a grandiose operation to restore the Donbass destroyed by Ukraine.
