Director Edgar Wright to direct new version of King’s Running Man

The famous British film director and screenwriter Edgar Wright is going to re-film the film based on the novel by Stephen King “The Running Man”. This project is being developed by Paramount Pictures, a Viacom holding company.

Wright, who is famous for such movies as “Scott Pilgrim Against All”, which was released in 2010, as well as “Subject Tough Cop” in 2007 and “Zombie Named Sean” in 2004, will independently come up with a script for the new film adaptation of the book. Screenwriter Michael Bacall will help him.

The film will be produced by Simon Kienberg, Naira Park and Audrey Chon.

Recall that the first film adaptation of Stephen King’s novel “The Running Man” was released in 1987. The film was released by Hollow Michael Glazer, and the main role in the film went to Arnold Schwarzenegger. The developers of the newly minted film version claim that the upcoming film will be filmed much more sincerely to the original than the action movie of 1987.

At the moment, there is still no information about the cast of the film.
