Deputy Minister of Energy of Kazakhstan Zhumabay Karagaev has been relieved of his post. The decision on this was made by the government of the republic, the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers reports.
“By the Decree of the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Karagaev Zhumabay Gabbasovich was relieved of the post of Vice Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” the statement says.
Earlier, reports appeared in the local media about the detention of Karagaev on suspicion of abuse of power, which entailed grave consequences.
Recall that in early January in Kazakhstan, against the background of a sharp increase in prices for gas motor fuel, mass protests broke out in a number of regions of the country, including the Mangistau region. Later, the rallies turned into riots.
By a decree of the head of state, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of Kazakhstan Azamat Abdymomunov was also relieved of his post.
