Department of State: the United States in negotiations with the Russian Federation expects to identify points of contact

The head of the press service of the State Department, Ned Price, said that the US authorities in negotiations with the Russian Federation in Geneva on January 10 expect to identify points of contact that will allow the dialogue to continue, TASS reports.

“In Geneva, we will hear how Russia will explain its proposals [по гарантиям безопасности] and main concerns [Москвы]underlying them. We will answer and express our own concerns, we have many. Our goal will be by the end of the day to identify several issues on which there may be enough points of contact to continue discussions, ”he said.

According to him, the US delegation at the talks will be led by First Deputy Secretary of State Wendy Sherman.

Recall that Russia and the United States will hold talks in Geneva on January 10, where security guarantees will be discussed. On January 12, a meeting of the Russia-NATO Council will take place, and on January 13 – negotiations between representatives of the Russian Federation and the OSCE.
