The US is discussing the issue of returning to the Open Skies Treaty (DON) with its allies, the final decision has not yet been made, reports TASS.
At the same time, as a source from the State Department told the agency, the United States is confident that it is Russia that violates the terms of the treaty.
“As this process continues, we urge Russia to take steps to return to compliance with the agreement,” the Foreign Ministry said.
Earlier it became known that the United States decided to disassemble for parts and hand over for scrap the aircraft that were used for observation flights over Russia under the Open Skies Treaty (OON).
Meanwhile, the Russian Foreign Ministry has set a deadline for the United States on the Open Skies Treaty. Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov said that the United States and its allies have just over a month and a half to decide on the fate of the agreement.
