The demand for materials for finishing housing in Russia has tripled over the year. This was reported in the press service of the online retailer VseInstrumenty.ru, RIA Novosti reports.
So, in August this year, the demand for goods for repair was 3.1 times more than a year ago. The reason for this could be the rise in prices for construction and finishing materials in 2021. According to a company spokesman, the Russians preferred to buy everything they need for repairs and finishing without waiting for a price change.
The sharpest demand for materials for repairs grew in Yekaterinburg (370 percent), St. Petersburg (348 percent) and Chelyabinsk (300 percent). Residents of Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod began to buy them three times more often. In Rostov-on-Don, the demand for goods increased by 115 percent, in Perm – by 92 percent, in Krasnodar – by 75 percent.
Earlier, a study by Russian Standard Bank showed that in 2021 Russians are actively taking loans for home renovation. On average, families borrow 270,000 rubles for a new finish. The most popular loan term for a repair loan is 60 months.
