President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko announced the date of its holding during a meeting with officials preparing the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly.
According to the Telegram channel “Pool of the First”, close to Lukashenko’s press service, the event will be held on February 11-12, 2021.
Earlier it was reported that the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly will be held early next year.
The Belarusian leader said that the meeting will present the progress of work on amendments to the country’s constitution.
He also proposed making the All-Belarusian People’s Assembly a constitutional body that controls the main directions of the state’s development.
The All-Belarusian People’s Assembly is held every five years. The event brings together representatives of the government and other branches of government of the republic, heads of enterprises, scientists and cultural figures.
