The head of the National Agency of Ukraine for the Prevention of Corruption (NAPK), Oleksandr Novikov, said that the data from the “Pandora dossier” on President Volodymyr Zelensky would be checked as soon as possible. He named the condition under which the head of state will withdraw from responsibility for offshore companies.
The Organized Crime and Corruption Research Center (OCCRP) referred to the “Pandora dossier” and spoke about some of the sources of income of Volodymyr Zelensky. Allegedly, the Ukrainian president receives money from foreign business through offshore schemes. Moreover, this is not reflected in the declaration. Zelensky is assisted by the head of the Security Service of Ukraine Ivan Bakanov and adviser Serhiy Shefir.
Oleksandr Novikov on the air of the Ukrainian radio “Novoye Vremya” said that the declaration of the President of Ukraine is being checked in full. It began to be analyzed back in April. Information from the media is taken into account, NAPK cooperates with journalists.
“So this information (from the” Pandora’s dossier “- ed.) Will also be taken into account,” Novikov promised.
He added that the verification will be completed as soon as possible. Its results will be known by October 18.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy will not be prosecuted for offshore companies if he used such schemes before his political career. If he earned this way from December 31, 2020 and later and did not reflect this data in the declaration, then the activity will be qualified as a violation.
Earlier, political scientist Marat Bashirov said that among several hundred public people who became “heroes” of the scandalous investigation of Pandora’s Dossier, only one person was the real target – the President of Ukraine Zelensky. The expert pointed out two important points related to this publication.
