Russian Daniil Medvedev will become the third racket in the world after the Australian Open tournament. This was reported in the microblog of the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) on Twitter. The new version of the ATP rankings will be published on Monday.
By now, Medvedev has reached the semifinals at the Australian Open. From the third line of the rating, he will displace Dominic Tim, who reached the fourth round at the tournament in Melbourne. For Medvedev, such a result will be the first in his career.
We will remind, on Wednesday, Medvedev beat in the quarter finals another Russian, Andrei Rublev, who is in eighth place in the ATP ranking.
In the semifinals, Medvedev will face the winner of the Stefanos Tsitsipas – Rafael Nadal pair.
