The head of the Investigative Committee of Belarus allowed the Russian consul to visit the detained compatriots, reports TASS.
“Technically, we are waiting for the permission to be transferred and the employees to be able to carry out their functions,” said the representative of the embassy.
Earlier it was reported that Russian President Vladimir Putin discussed the detention of compatriots in Minsk with members of the Russian Security Council.
The press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov said that the Kremlin hopes for the early release of the detainees. He noted that the detention of Russians in Belarus does not quite correspond to the allied relations of the republic with the Russian Federation.
We will remind that this week it became known about the detention of more than 30 Russians in the republic. A criminal case was opened against them about the preparation of a terrorist attack. According to the investigation, the detainees may be involved in organizing the riots in Belarus.
