Commander of the US Navy spoke about the exercises of the US military in the Arctic

US Navy Chief of Staff Admiral Michael Gilday said the US Navy conducted 20 exercises and special operations in the Arctic region in 2020.

According to the admiral, most of the exercises and operations were carried out with the participation of Washington’s partners.

“Our presence in the Arctic is no longer rare. It is becoming an integral part of what we do. Especially in the area of ​​operational responsibility of the European Command of the US Armed Forces,” – said Gilday.

He also added that in the near future further forms of stay of the American fleet in the Arctic will be determined, which will allow the Pentagon to carry out larger-scale operations in the region.
