Clinical trials of the Russian vaccine against coronavirus "Sputnik V" began in Belarus, reports Sputnik Belarus with reference to the acting. Minister of Health of the Republic Dmitry Pinevich.

According to him, while the drug is not used on volunteers. The test procedure begins from the moment you familiarize yourself with the dossier, as well as select the centers where they will take place.

It is noted that the Center for Expertise and Testing in Healthcare will play a key role in the testing. Pinevich also stressed that the testing procedure is strictly regulated and scrupulous. At the same time, he added that the Belarusian experts, like their colleagues from the Russian Federation, intend to assess the possibility of side effects.

The use of the drug itself will begin after all experts put their signatures. This may take about a month.

“That is, by the start of the epidemic season we will come armed,” Pinevich said.

The day before, Russian President Vladimir Putin, following a conversation with his Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko, said that the republic would become the first country to receive the world's first coronavirus vaccine from the Russian Federation.

As a reminder, the post-registration phase of testing the Sputnik V drug started in Russia on September 9th. According to the Ministry of Health, the mass vaccination of Russians against coronavirus infection will take place as the production of the drug increases and the results of post-registration studies appear.
