Clinical trials of the Russian Sputnik V vaccine have begun in Venezuela

Clinical trials of the Russian vaccine against coronavirus Sputnik V begin in Venezuela, reports TASS, referring to the statement by the country's President Nicolas Maduro.

"The Russian vaccine is already in Venezuela, trials are already beginning, there are 2,000 volunteers," he said on TV.

Maduro noted that Venezuela will soon receive several thousand doses of the Chinese vaccine as well.

According to the head of the country, mass vaccination in Venezuela may begin in April next year.

“But I was told that perhaps earlier,” he said.

Maduro previously said that in vaccine trials his son and sister will participate.

We will remind, in August, Russia was the first in the world to register a vaccine against coronavirus. The drug called "Sputnik V" was developed by the employees of the NF Gamaleya Research Center for Electrochemistry of the Russian Ministry of Health.

October 14 in RF the second vaccine against COVID-19, developed by the Novosibirsk center "Vector", was registered.

Clinical trials of the third Russian vaccine, which was created at the Scientific Center. Chumakov RAS, will be completed by December.
