The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation posted a memo-instruction on the pages of its Telegram channel. The document contains information on the delivery of summons to Russian citizens during the period of partial mobilization in the country. At the same time, this instruction indicates how not to become a victim of scammers when receiving a summons. This was reported by the journalists of the newspaper “Parliamentary newspaper”.
As Federal Law of the Russian Federation No. 5 3 prescribes, each summons must be handed only personally into the hands of the person to whom it is intended, or sent by Russian Post to the registration address of the conscript. Now there are many sites where scammers allegedly send imaginary subpoenas. Fraudsters have opened a lot of Telegram channels, giving them the same type of names like “Agenda: Moscow”, “Where the subpoenas are served”. Unreliable information is constantly published on such resources, they wrote in the message.
Databases of citizens allegedly mobilized to participate in a special operation are compiled on the basis of data from large services stolen by hackers this year. Scammers are very active in cold dialing. The scammers pretend to be employees of the military registration and enlistment offices. By telephone, they may demand that the person immediately go to the zone of the special military operation. You should not trust such calls, citizens should not be invited to the military registration and enlistment offices by phone. All chatbots of Telegram channels for checking mobilization lists have nothing to do with the Russian Ministry of Defense. When such bots are launched, the user automatically loses access to their personal account, and spam mailing starts from the account itself.
