The Center for Disease Control and Prevention in China's Jilin Province claims that a coronavirus has been detected on the packaging of frozen seafood imported from the Russian Federation, RIA Novosti reports.
The package, which was found to be infected, was identified last Friday during an inspection in the city of Changchun. The preliminary result was later confirmed by the specialists of the center.
The city authorities tracked all people who came into contact with this package. They are currently placed under medical supervision. Their test results for COVID-19 came back negative.
It is also known that ten kilograms of seafood from the shipment were sent to the Chinese city of Fuyui.
Health authorities have asked local residents who may have been in contact with these products to also take a coronavirus test.
Earlier, the Chinese city of Wuhan received the first international flight after a seven-month hiatus due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The day before, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Wang Wenbin said that the Chinese vaccine against COVID-19 gave positive results in the third stage of clinical trials in the UAE.
