Chinese authorities intend to increase pressure on the United States

The Chinese authorities intend to increase pressure on the United States in response to Washington’s actions that infringe on the national interests of the PRC, said Wang Wenbin, an official representative of the Chinese Foreign Ministry. He is quoted by TASS.

Thus, the politician commented on the dissatisfaction of US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken with the Beijing sanctions.

He stated that the United States “is interfering in the internal affairs of the PRC and is dealing a serious blow to the interests of our country.”

“We will continue to apply all necessary retaliatory measures to protect national sovereignty,” the Chinese Foreign Ministry official said.

Wang Wenbing pointed out that in recent years, the United States, under plausible pretexts and democratic slogans, has made groundless accusations against Chinese officials who have come under unilateral sanctions from Washington.

“The Chinese side legally applied retaliatory sanctions. This step is aimed at protecting the sovereignty, security and meeting the interests of the PRC’s development, ”the politician said.

Recall that in mid-December, Blinken said that the countries of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) are concerned about China’s “aggressive actions”. The head of the State Department argued that “Beijing’s actions threaten the free movement of goods worth $ 3 trillion annually,” so the United States intends to ensure freedom of navigation in the South China Sea.
