China launched Earth remote sensing satellite into orbit

China has successfully launched the Gaofen-3-02 remote sensing satellite into orbit, writes TASS with reference to the China Corporation of Aerospace Science and Technology.

The Long March 4C launch vehicle was launched at 07:45 local time (02:45 Moscow time) from the Jiuquan cosmodrome (Gansu province).

According to the Chinese corporation, the satellite will be used in the field of preventing marine disasters and eliminating their consequences, in order to monitor and protect the environment, as well as for the needs of agriculture and meteorology.

Meanwhile, a space weather center of the Russian-Chinese consortium has opened in Beijing.
