Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi during a meeting with I. O. Deputy head of the government appointed by Afghan militants Abdul Ghani Baradar in Doha announced the need to respect the rights of women and children in the republic, reports RT.
“China has always respected the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Afghanistan, helped the Afghan people independently determine the fate of the country and choose the path of development,” the head of the Chinese Foreign Ministry said.
The diplomat expressed the readiness of the Chinese side to provide humanitarian assistance to Afghanistan and work with the international community to help local residents overcome temporary difficulties.
The minister hopes that members of the radical Taliban movement (an organization banned in the Russian Federation) will be inclusive, defend the legal rights of women and children and unite all ethnic groups.
Earlier, UN Secretary General António Guterres appealed to the world community to defend the rights of women around the world, including the right of girls to school.
