In the course of research carried out recently by specialists from a number of universities in the USA and Europe, a list of products was compiled that help to rejuvenate the body and prolong life.

The long-livers’ menu includes powerful antioxidants – dark chocolate, tea and coffee, as well as apples, blueberries, black currants, broccoli, cherries, as well as tomatoes, oranges, pomegranates, plums, peaches, raspberries, spinach, strawberries and bread or bran cereals … All of them are rich in polyphenols, which have the ability to repair damaged cells and lengthen their life.

Experts point out that if other types of products – fish, meat, milk, cereals – provide the body with the necessary calories, fats and minerals, then vegetables and, first of all, fruits are biochemical elements that protect and lengthen the life of cells.

For example, why is sweet red pepper so good? It is low in calories and high in nutrients and is an excellent source of phytochemicals, as well as beta carotene and vitamin C. Red peppers contain twice as much vitamin C as most fruits and vegetables, including oranges.

Broccoli is not far behind. Cabbage is an excellent and cheap source of vitamins A, C and E. In addition, broccoli is high in glucosinolates, which stimulate the body’s immune system. Broccoli is a doubly healthy food due to its high concentration of sulforaphanes, which are powerful anti-cancer agents.

However, do not forget that each person has their own, personal diet. Try to listen to your body and not drive it into a strict framework of recommendations and dogmas. The body itself will tell you what and in what quantity and combination it needs.
