The Central Election Commission reported data on the turnout in elections in the regions, RIA Novosti reports with reference to the CEC.
According to the CEC, residents of the Belgorod Region were the most active in the elections to regional parliaments. There have already voted 44.99 percent of voters. The Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug (39.90 percent) is in second place in terms of voter turnout, and the Voronezh Region is in third (33.79 percent). The lowest turnout is observed in Komi (21.13 percent).
The highest turnout in the elections of heads of constituent entities of the Russian Federation was recorded in the Jewish Autonomous Region, where 70.51 percent of voters have already voted. Slightly less active were residents of Tatarstan (61.75 percent), Tambov region (53.58 percent), Krasnodar Territory (53.05 percent). The turnout in the elections for the governor of the Leningrad region is 32.78 percent. The lowest turnout is in the Smolensk Region (19.89 percent).
Let us remind you that on September 13, more than 9 thousand campaigns of all levels are held in 83 constituent entities of the Russian Federation (except for Kabardino-Balkaria and St. Petersburg). More than 56 thousand polling stations were opened throughout the country on this day.
