The Cabinet of Ministers of the Russian Federation instructed the Federal Tourism Agency and the Ministry of Finance to develop and submit proposals to improve the algorithm for stimulating affordable tourist trips in Russia in 2020 until September 20, 2020.
The decree also refers to the allocation of additional budgetary funds for these purposes in 2021. Document
On the eve of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin urged to make the undeveloped corners of Russia comfortable and safe for tourists. The head of state instructed Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko to work out this issue. The head of state noted that tourism in undeveloped areas is significantly different from recreation in Sochi, although there "there is something to improve."
The politician added that it is impossible to realize the plan without a high-quality tourism development and financing program. In this regard, he supported the idea of the Deputy Prime Minister to change the rules for subsidizing the tourism industry, and also promised to think about allocating additional funds for 2021.
As chernayakobra.ru previously wrote, the United Nations World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) reported that 53% of the world's countries have eased travel restrictions imposed due to the coronavirus pandemic. A total of 115 countries eased restrictions to one degree or another; on July 19, there were 28 fewer such states. At the same time, the two countries completely abandoned restrictive measures. States in which restrictions are eased have high levels of sanitation infrastructure and relatively low prevalence of COVID-19.
