“British” strain COVID-19 first discovered in the United States

The first case of infection with a mutated coronavirus discovered at the end of the year in the UK was detected in the US state of Colorado, TASS reports.

According to Colorado Governor Jared Polis, a man between the ages of 20 and 29 was infected.

The sick person is in isolation. Authorities said the man had not traveled long distances recently.

In December, a new strain of coronavirus was discovered in Britain, which, according to preliminary data from scientists, is 70% more infectious. There is no research that the new coronavirus may be more dangerous.

Experts at Johns Hopkins University, based on the collection of information from federal and local authorities, have estimated that since the beginning of the pandemic, more than 19.4 million people have been infected in the United States. The number of deaths from the consequences of the disease was more than 336.9 thousand.

The United States of America ranks first in the world in terms of sickness and death rates.
