Borrell called the “largest in history” accumulation of Russian forces near the border with Ukraine

The European Union is concerned about the deployment of Russian forces along the border with Ukraine. This was stated by the EU High Representative for Foreign Policy Josep Borrell.

According to him, the EU continues to record the deployment of Russian troops on the western borders of Russia.

“This is the most massive deployment of forces on the borders of Ukraine that we have encountered. When forces are deployed, we are not protected from surprises. We hope that this will be completed and the Russian forces will leave,” he said.

Borrell claims that to date, Russia has concentrated about 150,000 military personnel near the western borders and in Crimea.

It is worth noting that in recent weeks, Western countries have expressed concern about the strengthening of the Russian forces at the borders of Ukraine. At the same time, the press secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov noted that Moscow can move troops within its territory. He stressed that Russian troops do not threaten anyone, so their maneuvers on the territory of the Russian Federation should not worry anyone. Moscow has repeatedly stated that it is not a party to the conflict in Ukraine, and also expresses its sincere interest in overcoming the political and economic crisis in Ukraine.
