Borisov: full technical survey of ISS systems is planned for 2025

In the office of Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov, the timing of a complete technical survey of the International Space Station (ISS) was announced.

As reported by TASS in the office of Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov, the life of the station is already coming to an end. In a few years, specialists expect a number of ISS systems to fail. Already now, astronauts are transmitting information about technical problems on board. Russia will conduct a full comprehensive survey of the station’s systems in 2015.

“And based on the results, we will make a decision and honestly warn partners. And honestly (partners. – Ed.) We will warn them about leaving the ISS from 2025,” Borisov was quoted as saying in the program “Moscow. Kremlin. Putin” on the channel “Russia- one”.

The issue of Russia’s continued participation in the ISS project was raised at a recent meeting on space with Russian President Vladimir Putin on April 12. Back in the winter, Roskosmos announced its readiness to consider projects for a new space base. RSC Energia proposed its project with a modular station.
