Bolivia to receive first batch of Sputnik V vaccine

On January 28, Bolivia will receive the first batch of the Russian drug for the coronavirus Sputnik V, TASS reports, citing the republic’s foreign ministry.

“The first batch of the Sputnik V vaccine will arrive in our country on Thursday, January 28,” the Foreign Ministry said.

We will remind, on January 5, the state agency for medicines and technologies in the health sector of Bolivia registered the Russian vaccine against COVID-19 “Sputnik V”. The preparation was processed according to an accelerated procedure. Similarly, the vaccine has been registered in Argentina, Venezuela, Serbia, Algeria and Palestine.

At the end of December last year, it was reported that the Bolivian authorities had signed a contract for the supply of 5.2 million doses of the Russian drug. Earlier it was expected that the first batch of 1.7 million doses of vaccine will arrive in the country from the Russian Federation at the end of March.
