U.S. State Department Secretary Anthony Blinken and South Korean Foreign Minister Chung Eui-yong had a telephone conversation, US Foreign Office spokesman Ned Price said.
According to him, during the conversation, Blinken condemned the rocket launches carried out by Pyongyang. The Secretary of State stressed that the launches violated several United Nations Security Council resolutions.
Price added that Anthony Blinken and Jung Eui-young also discussed cooperation between the two countries to achieve complete denuclearization and sustainable peace on the Korean Peninsula.
Earlier, the South Korean military said that the DPRK on January 14 launched two, presumably, ballistic missiles from the province of Pyongan Pukto towards the Sea of Japan. Official Tokyo protested to the authorities of the DPRK.
