18-year-old Billy Ailish became the main character of the new issue of the British version of GQ for July-August. In a conversation with reporters, a multiple Grammy Award winner touched on body-shaming and self-acceptance. The singer admitted that all her former lovers criticized her figure, because of which she had serious problems with self-confidence.
Here's a sensation: I never felt welcome. My ex-boyfriends did not contribute to my self-confidence. None of them. And this is a very serious problem in my life - the fact that I have never physically attracted anyone,
- shared Eilish.
It is these problems with self-esteem that Billy Elish explains his love for baggy and maximally closed clothes - she simply does not want people to judge her solely by appearance:
Therefore, I dress as I dress. I don’t like the idea that you guys absolutely every one of you, judge a person by his figure and other external signs. But this does not mean that I will not wake up one day and do not decide to put on a T-shirt, as I did before.
At the same time, Billy Eilish feels that over time she became a hostage to the most unusual style she created, which also began to bother her greatly. The singer remembered how in one of the periods of her life she tried to be “the same as everyone else”: she went to fashion stores, bought only what was in trend — so as not to get out of the crowd at school. However, this desire to not stand out from the crowd disappeared quite quickly in the girl.
Sometimes I dress like a boy, sometimes like a swaggering girl. Often I feel trapped in the personality that I created with my own hands. Sometimes it seems to me that people around me just don’t perceive me as a woman, - admitted Billy.
In a conversation with reporters, Eilish said that she hadn’t been meeting with anyone for the "long months", and admitted that people simply stopped attracting her. At the same time, the singer does not worry about this and calls her loneliness a kind of drug.
