Washington and Beijing should establish a dialogue on strategic partnership, said US President Joe Biden at a virtual meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping.
As the Assistant to the US President for National Security Jake Sullivan said, the parties agreed to advance bilateral negotiations on this topic.
“Biden really touched upon the need for negotiations on strategic stability with the President of the People’s Republic of China. It is necessary that this be directed by leaders and carried out by teams of senior officials from both sides, endowed with appropriate powers, ”TASS quoted him as saying.
Earlier, Biden, at a meeting with Xi Jinping, expressed concern about China’s actions regarding Tibet and Hong Kong.
At the same time, the US President noted the importance of international cooperation between the two countries in key areas. He stressed that interaction is necessary to deal with global challenges.
