American leader Joe Biden said that a telephone conversation with Chinese President Xi Jinping had lasted two hours the day before, RIA Novosti reported.
According to the US President, “it was a good dialogue.” He noted that he has known Jinping for a long time.
“But if we don’t move, they’ll eat our lunch,” Biden commented.
He explained that China has major new initiatives. They invest in transport and environmental related areas. Therefore, the US must “become more active,” says Biden.
The head of the White House on Wednesday, February 10, held the first telephone conversation in his presidency with the President of the PRC. During the conversation, the parties discussed the fight against the coronavirus pandemic, climate change and preventing the proliferation of weapons in the world. The leaders of the two countries agreed to maintain close contact on bilateral relations and issues of mutual interest.
