Biden extends restrictions on entry to the United States from the Schengen area

President of the United States Joe Biden decided to maintain restrictions on entry into the country from the Schengen countries, Great Britain, Ireland and Brazil, TASS reports.

This was during a conversation with reporters said the press secretary of the White House Jen Psaki.

According to him, the American leader also decided to add South Africa to this list, since a more infectious strain of coronavirus infection was found in this country.

“In a situation where the pandemic is getting worse and more infectious variants of the virus are spreading, it is not time to remove restrictions on international travel,” the spokeswoman said.

In addition, those who come to the United States from abroad will have to present negative COVID-19 test results to airline representatives before departure.

Earlier, Biden and French President Emmanuel Macron held a telephone conversation, during which they agreed to join forces to fight the coronavirus pandemic.
