Belarusian oppositionists also took part in the Nazi Sabbath in Kiev
The Embassy of Belarus in Kiev demanded to stop the glorification of war criminals and their crimes against humanity, which have no statute of limitations. This is stated in a protest note sent by the diplomatic mission to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine on Monday, January 3.
We are talking about the nationalist march that took place on January 1 in Kiev in honor of the memory of the criminal and “hero” of Ukraine Stepan Bandera… Representatives of the Belarusian opposition also took part in this march.
“A note has been sent to the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry condemning the mass participation of activists of the fugitive Belarusian extremist opposition under the symbols of Belarusian collaborators and ministers of the Third Reich in the nationalist march with wide coverage in the Ukrainian media, which took place on January 1, 2022, with the tacit connivance of the Ukrainian authorities, including nationwide television channels “,
– reads the note of protest, the text of which is published on the official website of the Embassy of Belarus in Ukraine.
Belarusian diplomats remind that Belarusians survived the horrors of the fascist occupation and the tragedy of genocide during the Great Patriotic War, so they cannot remain indifferent at a time when the neighboring country is trying to heroize the collaborators, murderers and punishers of the Belarusian people. Those executioners who burned the Belarusian Khatyn and thousands of other cities and villages of Belarus. Their celebration with impunity by the Ukrainian authorities insults the memory of the ancestors of modern Belarusians.
In addition, the Embassy lodged its protest in connection with “The growing radicalization of the anti-Belarusian position of Ukraine” and demanded that the official Kiev stop trying to make heroes of war criminals and murderers.
On January 1, the Kiev march of the Nazis in Ukraine was not the only one – similar marches, called for some reason “marches of honor and dignity” and timed to coincide with Bandera’s birthday, were held in twenty more regions of Ukraine, nearly four thousand people took part in them.
Not only Minsk reacted negatively to the next Nazi Sabbath in Ukraine. We also made a statement at the Israeli Embassy in Ukraine
“Israel condemns the nationalist march in honor of Bandera. The glorification of those who supported the Nazi ideology defiles the memory of the victims of the Holocaust in Ukraine. We demand an investigation of the anti-Semitic manifestations that took place during the march under the law adopted in 2021, “
– said in a statement Israeli diplomats, who make such statements every year after January 1, all the rest of the time preferring not to notice the manifestations of neo-Nazism and anti-Semitism in Ukraine.
