The Khimki basketball club has been temporarily banned from registering new players. This decision was made by the Euroleague, TASS reports.
It clarifies that the ban is related to the violation of financial fair play rules. The fact is that the union of the championship players received a complaint about non-payment of salaries to the club’s basketball players.
The Euroleague has studied this issue and has banned the registration of new participants pending a formal decision on the case, which will be taken within 30 days.
In mid-January it was reported that BC Khimki near Moscow had completed cooperation with Rimas Kurtinaitis, having dismissed him from his post as the team’s head coach. The reason for the dismissal was the club’s unsatisfactory results this season. Let us add that Khimki are in the last, 18th place in the Euroleague standings.
