Russian biathlete Anton Babikov tested positive for coronavirus before the start of the World Cup in Finland.
This is reported by the Russian Biathlon Union. According to the source, the Russian side handed over all the necessary medical documents to the Finnish authorities. They will have to decide on the participation of the Russian team in the first stage of the World Cup.
“The tests showed a positive result in four representatives of our team: Anton Babikov, as well as doctors of the national team Roman Leifer and Yevgeny Shutov and masseur Valery Lashin,” the SBR said.
At the moment, the team is isolated in the hotel and does not leave their rooms. In addition, the national team’s schedule includes routine tests for COVID-19. Biathletes will have to pass them on November 27 and 28.
In addition to the Russian team, cases of coronavirus infection were detected in the national teams of Latvia and Moldova.
