Austrian Chancellor Sebastian Kurz said that negotiations with the Russian side on the purchase of the Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine have ended.
“The negotiations on the de facto contract have come to an end. This means that a purchase for us in Austria is possible, ”TASS quoted the Chancellor as saying.
He added that the purchase of 1 million doses of the Russian drug would be an additional vaccination booster in Austria.
The Russian Sputnik V vaccine has been registered in 59 countries with a total population of over 1.5 billion people. Since March 4, the drug is undergoing an examination procedure at the European Medicines Agency (EMA), which is engaged in the approval of drugs for use on the European market.
Recall that Vienna was negotiating with Moscow on the purchase of 1 million doses of vaccine to vaccinate 500,000 citizens. It was clarified that deliveries can be realized in three tranches in April, May and June.
