At the Election Observation Headquarters in Moscow, he spoke about the advantages of the electronic voter register

Remote electronic voting (DEV) in Moscow has become a new electoral norm. This was stated by the head of the Public headquarters for election observation in the capital, Vadim Kovalev.

The electronic list of voters is about the same as the usual paper list, the head of the headquarters noted. All voters of the capital are taken into account in the electronic form, regardless of whether they vote remotely or in person, Kovalev said.

“The main advantage of the electronic list of voters is that the system continuously collects and instantly updates all the information that members of election commissions take long hours to collect,” he explained.

According to him, the electronic form allows you to quickly take into account changes in the electoral lists. This will help to avoid errors associated with storing data in paper form.

The Head of Staff emphasized that the electronic voting system has been tested many times and has shown its reliability. Soon, the turnout for face-to-face elections will be inferior to electronic ones, he believes.

Kovalev recalled that remote voting has been used in the capital for the fourth year already. The DEG has already outgrown the status of an experiment, the head of staff stated.

At the same time, he drew attention to the fact that the system is being improved every year and is becoming more convenient for Muscovites. The words of the head of the headquarters are quoted by

Elections of municipal deputies of Moscow will be held from 9 to 11 September. Residents of the capital will elect 1,417 people to local self-government bodies. For electronic voting, you must have a full account on the portal. Pre-registration is not required.
