Armenians and Azerbaijanis of Georgia go to rallies

Georgia is saved only by the fact that Armenians and Azerbaijanis live in different regions and do not overlap yet

The Georgian Foreign Ministry welcomes a humanitarian ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh, the Foreign Ministry said, which is watching with concern the development of the conflict between the two Georgian neighbors. There is something to worry about in Tbilisi - there are large diasporas of two warring parties in the country: both Armenians and Azerbaijanis.

Ethnic Armenians mainly live in the Georgian region of Samtskhe-Javakheti, ethnic Azerbaijanis in the Kvemo Kartli region. In both regions, with the beginning of a new round of the old armed conflict, rallies are being held in Nagorno-Karabakh.

In Javakheti, ethnic Armenians gather in the city of Akhalkalaki under the slogan "Javakhk is near Artsakh!" Participants bring photographs of the dead soldiers - defenders of Nagorno-Karabakh. Among the dead, five soldiers were from Javakheti, and several thousand Armenians gathered to honor their memory.

At one of these rallies, not knowing how to help Nagorno-Karabakh, it was decided to create the Javakhk Foundation to help the residents of Karabakh.

“During the period of our collection, we collected about $ 270 thousand, but this is not the final amount, we still have money that we did not manage to transfer to the bank today due to technical problems. We are waiting for medical equipment from Tbilisi, which will be brought by our good friend. For today, more money has been collected, about 150 thousand rubles ",

- said one of the organizers of the Foundation Ashot Nakhatakyan to journalists.

The organizers of the Fund promise that the fundraising will not end until all streets and all houses in Stepanakert and in other war-affected cities and villages of Nagorno-Karabakh are restored. Fundraising is not the only action from Georgian Armenians to help the residents of Karabakh. Several trucks with food products for the Defense Army and the population of Nagorno-Karabakh have already been sent to Artsakh.

Azerbaijanis living in Georgia are going to their rallies in support of Azerbaijan in the war in Nagorno-Karabakh. Their rallies are held in Gardabani, Kvemo Kartli region under the slogan "Karabakh is Azerbaijan!"

At Azerbaijani rallies, there are many posters with rather warlike inscriptions: "Long live the valiant army of Azerbaijan!", "Either Karabakh, or death!", "Martyrs do not die, the Motherland is indivisible!", "Long live the Azerbaijani-Georgian brotherhood!"

However, there is no question of any help to their historical homeland, except for moral help, at such rallies.

Georgia is saved only by the fact that ethnic Armenians and Azerbaijanis live in different regions and practically do not intersect.

Meanwhile, in Yerevan, Georgia is accused of supplying weapons to Azerbaijan through this country, despite the official ban on the transit of weapons through the territory of Georgia.
