Armenian spokesman says Turkish F-16s violated border in September

Deputy Commander of the Air Defense Forces of Armenia, Colonel Garik Movsesyan said that two Turkish F-16 fighters violated Armenian airspace on September 27, Sputnik reports.

He accused Azerbaijani representatives of lying, claiming that Ankara does not participate in hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh. According to Movsesian, in July, Turkish F-16s arrived in Azerbaijan through the Georgian airspace and participated in the Turkish-Azerbaijani military exercises. After that, the planes remained at the military airfield in Ganja, the colonel said.

According to him, on September 27, the F-16 violated the airspace of Armenia by 6 km and struck the village of Mets Masrik and the city of Vardenis, on September 29, 60 km from the border, the fighter shot down an Armenian Su-25, and on October 10 struck two strikes on Kapan.

The day before, the presidents of Russia and Turkey, Vladimir Putin and Recep Tayyip Erdogan, discussed the situation in the zone of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict by telephone.

Let us remind you that despite the entry into force on October 10 of the ceasefire agreement reached in Moscow at the meeting of the foreign ministers of Russia, Armenia and Azerbaijan, the fighting in Nagorno-Karabakh continues almost along the entire line of contact.
