Armenian Foreign Minister Zohrab Mnatsakanyan is going to visit the United States, writes The Hill with reference to the Armenian Ambassador to the United States Varuzhan Nersesyan.
“We are working on preparing the visit of the Foreign Minister to Washington,” Nersesyan said.
The minister is expected to meet with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo before the end of the month. The specific purpose of Mnatsakanyan's visit has not yet been announced.
Earlier, Mnatsakanyan paid an official visit to Moscow and held talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov on de-escalation of the Karabakh conflict.
We add that the agreement on the cessation of hostilities between Baku and Yerevan entered into force on October 10 at 11:00 Moscow time. In the evening of the same day, the Foreign Ministries of Azerbaijan and Armenia confirmed their commitment to the ceasefire. However, a little later, the parties accused each other of violating the truce.
