The formal resignation of the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan should take place from April 20 to May 5. Pashinyan’s chief of staff Arsen Torosyan announced this, Sputnik Armenia reports.
It is specified that this period is provided for by the legislation of the republic.
Torosyan also stated that the decision to hold early parliamentary elections is irrevocable, it was discussed with parliamentary and some extra-parliamentary forces.
Recently, Pashinyan announced that he would resign in April. The politician explained that his resignation will be formal. This is necessary to launch the mechanism for dissolving parliament. Until the elections, he will continue to serve as prime minister.
Earlier, Pashinyan announced the holding of early parliamentary elections on June 20.
