Ukraine hit Russian positions for the first time with AGM-88 anti-radar missiles.
Photos of the wreckage of this rocket appeared on the Web, writes Avia.pro.
Sources say the missile hit a target successfully. The wreckage was marked BSU-60, indicating that it was an AGM-88 cruise missile. In the public space, it was not reported that they were being sent to Ukraine – the latter were not officially delivered to Ukraine, however, the Pentagon announced the imminent delivery of “special cruise missiles” to the armament of Ukraine to combat air defense. Apparently it was just about these missiles.
Since it is not yet known exactly what kind of missile it was, experts suggest that it is an AGM-88 with a target engagement range of up to 111 kilometers. That is, with these missiles, the Armed Forces of Ukraine can hit further than the MLRS delivered by previously delivered missiles.
It is not officially reported where the fragments of the anti-radar missile were found. But military analysts say that in large quantities they can be dangerous for the Russian Federation, since they can penetrate air defense defenses, which will increase the effectiveness of strikes inflicted by the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
