The FA Cup is an extremely popular tournament in the homeland of football. The final matches are always played at the main stadium in the country, Wembley. In 2020, two London clubs will play in the decisive match - Arsenal and Chelsea.
For some, reaching the Gunners' final was a big surprise. Arsenal has a new head coach this season with a 38-year-old Spanish specialist Mikel Arteta... He previously played for the club, spending his final five years (2011-2016).
The affairs of the London club in the championship were, frankly, terrible. Arsenal finished only in eighth place and were left without a European competition, showing the worst result in the last twenty years. For this reason, the match against Chelsea in the Cup final is a great opportunity to get away with his fans for a failed season. If the trophy goes to the Gunners, it will be the first for Mikel Arteta as a coach.
Curiously, Arsenal's closest rival, Chelsea, has an almost identical situation with the head coach. Before the start of the season, the Aristocrats were also headed by their former player - Frank Lampard... He is a little older than Arteta - he is 42 years old. For him, this is the second club in his career. Previously, he worked with Derby County. The Chelsea win will also bring Lampard his first coaching trophy.
According to bookmakers, Chelsea is the favorite in the final match. In two matches of the ended championship, one game was won by the Blues, the other ended in a draw. However, Arsenal should by no means be discounted, because this team is the most titled in the history of the FA Cup - they have 13 trophies on their account. Chelsea have five less.
The Arsenal-Chelsea match will take place at Wembley Stadium on Saturday 1 August, beginning at 19.30 (Moscow time).
