Arab coalition announces bombing of Yemeni capital

The Arab coalition led by Saudi Arabia announced the start of the bombing of the Yemeni capital Sana’a, reports RIA Novosti.

The coalition statement called the air strikes “a response to a threat and a military necessity.” It is reported that the bombings are carried out in response to the strikes of the Shiite movement Ansar Allah (Houthis) on the territory of the UAE.

“We urge civilians to stay away from military camps and Houthi gatherings for their safety,” the statement said.

The Houthis regularly carry out attacks on Saudi Arabia and its infrastructure.

In early September last year, they launched a missile attack on the eastern province of the kingdom, injuring two children and damaging several houses.
