Opera singer Anna Netrebko is not going to renounce Russia.
The opera star spoke to the Austrian journalists of the Zeit publication, who, during the conversation, repeatedly tried to bring the opera singer to the next statements on her part. However, the artist this time did not succumb to the instigation.
“I love my country, culture, people. I don’t think it’s true what’s happening now, but I remain Russian”, Netrebko told an Austrian correspondent when he tried to provoke her into yet another “renunciation”.

Then an Austrian journalist accused the singer of trying to sit on two chairs at the same time. “You are not critical enough for the West, and you are too critical for Russia,” the Austrian told Anna Netrebko.
“I can’t please everyone. I will have to live like this. Yes, I want to sit on those two chairs, even three if I have to. One day people will understand – I’m not a traitor to my homeland”, Anna Netrebko said.
