Opera singer Anna Netrebko made a new statement.
The journalists of the Austrian publication Zeit tried to bring the star of the opera to the next statements against Russia. However, this time the opera diva did not succumb to influence.
She admitted that before her scandalous statement, several forces put pressure on her at once. The artist was afraid that sanctions would be imposed against her and that she would be deprived of her Austrian passport. Nevertheless, in an interview she said that she loves her country, her people and does not want to give up being Russian. She hopes that sooner or later her act will no longer be perceived as a betrayal.

At the moment, she is very depressing that Russophobia has become aggravated in the world and with her work she will try to restore the balance.
“I recently performed in Paris and Milan with works by Tchaikovsky and Rachmaninov. Both have nothing to do with the current situation. My mission is to fight Russophobia by performing on stage, including in the Russian repertoire, which is sometimes undesirable now”, Anna Netrebko commented.
