Host Andrei Norkin does not understand how the rich and famous can be dissatisfied with their country.
Several Russian actors and directors have lost their jobs for not supporting the special operation in Ukraine. 54-year-old journalist Andrey Norkin spoke scathingly about these cultural figures.
The host of the Mesto Vstrechi program said on NTV that actors and directors who oppose Russia’s military special operation in Ukraine were “cleansed” from state theaters. Norkin cited as an example the star of the series “Chiki” Varvara Shmykova, who expressed dissatisfaction with the Russian government and participated in illegal rallies. Director Alexander Molochnikov was also left without work in the theater. The TV presenter laughed at the artist, noting that he is more famous for his romance with Comedy Woman star Ekaterina Barnabas than for his theatrical work.
By the way, Alexander recently spoke frankly about his relationship with a comedian. The director admitted that he married Catherine as quickly as he divorced.
It is known that Molochnikov’s productions have disappeared from the repertoire of the Theater on Malaya Bronnaya. The Bolshoi Theater also refused to cooperate with the director, in which he was preparing two operas.
“Molochnikov’s liberal views are well known. I especially remember his penitential speech to Ukraine in the first days of the special operation – however, later Molochnikov wiped this post and calmly continued to work in guest theaters“, Norkin said.
Among the “cancelled” directors were Kirill Serebrennikov and Sergey Zhenovach. The Chekhov Moscow Art Theater under the direction of artistic director Konstantin Khabensky refused to work with them. The TV presenter also named Dmitry Krymov, who left for the United States on February 25.
“Krymov is a representative of such a theatrical dynasty, and his father is a director, and his mother is a famous theater journalist. It was just so hard for them all. People who have great opportunities, including financial ones, names, jobs, history behind them – and they are most dissatisfied, most of all, pardon the expression, stink“, – Norkin said emotionally on the air of the program.
