Andrei Konchalovsky received a special jury prize at the Venice Film Festival - the work of the Russian director "Dear Comrades" was awarded one of the six main awards of the annual show!

The film "Dear Comrades" is based on real events and tells about the tragedy of 1962, known as the Novocherkassk shooting. Then the workers of the electric locomotive plant and other townspeople took to the streets of the city, demanding better living conditions and higher wages. Fire was opened on participants in the peaceful strike: 26 people were killed, 87 were wounded, seven were sentenced to death, and dozens received prison sentences. For a long time, information about these events was classified.
The main role in the film was played by Konchalovsky's wife - actress Julia Vysotskaya.
