The president of Juventus Turin, Agnelli, has moved to the new European Super League.
Andrea Agnelli resigned as President of the European Clubs Association (ECA). It is notable that the ENA did not support the creation of the newly minted European Super League. For the same reason, 12 European football teams left the ECA, which became the founding clubs of the new tournament.
“Andrea Agnelli is not portrayed as president of the ENA any more. Juventus also left the ENA. Agnelli also retired from the UEFA Executive Committee. It is safe to say that this is due to the Super League,” – tweeted journalist Gabriele Marcotti.
The formed European Super League will bring together 15 founding clubs and five participating clubs in annual tournaments. Florentino Perez, president of Real Madrid football club, became the head of the newly minted Super League.
Former onion of the Association of European Clubs Andrea Agnelli took over as vice chairman in the Super League. In this regard, Agnelli also resigned from the UEFA Executive Committee.
Manchester United owner Joel Glazer became another vice-chairman of the Super League.
ECA is a unified football self-supporting organization recognized by UEFA. The Association protects and promotes the interests of European professional clubs. On the official page of the ECA, there is still no confirmation that Agnelli has left the post of chief.
